Snowpocalypse 2010

6 Feb

Oh, Mother Nature, you’re suck a dirty whore.  While I typically like that in a person, this is not one of those times.  Those of you in the North East are probably also “enjoying” this wonderful weather we’re having.  It’s a blizzard of biblical proportions.  Many are referring to this as the Snowpocalypse or Snowmageddon, some are even using the phrase “snow-my-god.”  The people in the last group should be slapped right across their mouths.

We lucky folks are trapped indoors until someone comes and plows us out.  Frankly, I think we’ll be lucky to be freed from this snow prison by Tuesday.  Based on what I’m seeing outside my window, there is no way on God’s snowy earth that a plow is going to make it down my street anytime soon.  It’s one of those disasters where the cars are totally buried.  I feel bad for all the people who have on street parking.  Storms like these there’s no way to tell which one is your car until you start digging out.  Thankfully, I have a driveway.

I don’t mind a storm from time to time, it can be kind of fun to be snowed in.  The best thing about being snowed in while single is that I can do whatever I want.  I’m currently typing this in my sweatpants with my messy hair that hasn’t been touched by a brush since yesterday.  Oh, and there’s a beer sitting right next to me.  You know the best part?  I may or may not shower this whole entire weekend.  And know what?  There’s no one around to judge me.  It’s just me and my dog and he doesn’t care – he’s too busy napping.

So, if you’ll excuse me, I think I might spend the afternoon watching cooking shows while I surf for porn.

There were a ton of people that lost power over the weekend. And those with satellite lost picture on Friday. Now that sucks.

Now I remember why I moved to Fl. You should take pics of yourself as you progress thru those various stages of descent over the next few days and you can use them, kind of like a flip book to amuse your friends.

Snowbanks are great places to temporarily (obviously) store vodka. Just sayin’…

Now that’s a good idea. There was PLENTY of snow for temporary storage of booze.

Ah! See, from where I’m sitting (oddly enough it’s my dad’s living room at midnight, actually) in Finland, snow is just.. well, snow. We don’t tell people to stay home, we don’t close schools… some years back it dropped below -50 Celsius in Lapland and then they said it’s okay to not go to schools. Everyone did. Trust me, I’ve spent a many wintery mornings when the icy snow has come down sideways, on top of all the snow that’s already on the ground, wishing we had been officially snowed in!

But I strongly support your search for porn. And cooking shows.

The major difference is that it shuts down the city here. The governor even called for a state of emergency on Saturday. Pretty much all of the roads (including the highways) were shut down. It sucks. I hate snow.

I spent the past three days in the bars, drinking and watching sports. I can’t stand being alone. This was a fun weekend. And it looks like we will have tomorrow off also. And something about more snow Wednesday. Enjoy!

I spend the weekend stuffing my face and watching “The Tudors”

I spend it hiding from my creepy ass neighbor that hit on me on Saturday. Very unpleasant.

Ps. Mother nature must be on her cycle because she is set to dump another 5-10″ on us on Tues-Wed. of this week.
