When Bad Days Happen to Good People

23 Apr

There are 3 indicators that this is going to be a very bad day:

  1. I sauntered into the office 30 minutes late today because we had been told that all the managers were going to be in an off site meeting today.  Turns out that the “off site” part was cancelled and now it’s just being held by conference call.  Yeah, everyone knows I was late now.  Super.  Great.
  2. My contact lenses are all jacked up in my eyes.  They keep swirling and twirling about so everything looks blurry.  Add that to the very high heels I’m wearing and it might lead to some terrible humiliating disaster in the cafeteria.  Goody.  I can’t wait until lunch time.
  3. What happens when you submerge your shiny red ipod into a cup of coffee?  It stops playing.  Shit.  I totally ruined my freaking ipod!!  What are the freaking odds?!?  It had to fall directly into the coffee, right into the blasted cup.  Why??  WHY??  Ugh, my beautiful cherry red ipod.

I should just call it a day and go back to bed.

My husband bought me a Silver Razr when they first came out.
I loved it and sang to it everyday.
One day, while I was picking up breakfast, it fell into my sister open mug of coffee! I took it apart to dry it off but it was never the same.

You know that it’s totally your sister’s fault. Right? -CS

its funny how Ipods like to fall in coffee… I recently dropped mine and saw that it was heading straight for my coffee, and in one quick ninja move I karate chopped the mug out of the way and onto the floor… I figured cleaning up a mess, and replacing a broken mug was easier than buying a new ipod! –

Anyway, sorry to hear you’re having one of “those” days…

Where were you when I needed you?? Coffee and shattered ceramic everywhere is much better than a dead ipod. -CS

That sounds like every day to me.

Then all of your days suck. -CS

I couldn’t get past the title: who ever said you’re a good person?

Thanks for that. No, really. It means a lot to me. Maybe I’ll change the title and put the word good in quotes. -CS

WOW That is definitely the start of a bad day.

Hopefully this will make you feel a little better (or make me seem like a total geek)….. N E Way, just a little FYI. Every time I come to your blog using Firefox, there is a little smiley face off to the right in the gray area. That or maybe it’s just you sending little telepathic subliminal messages to me.

Where’s the “don’t send me peen” wish? That would make me happy in my pants.

It took me about 10 minutes to figure out “NE way”. I’m slow.

I did make a wish about never seeing peen again! It’s at the other post. -CS

At least Michael Kors didn’t fall in the coffee.

Thank god for that. I probably would have had to take a personal day if that had happened. -CS

#1 sounds like something I would totally do. In fact, I have done something very similar.

#2 thanks for the reminder that I need to buy new contacts and schedule an eye exam BUT when do I have the stinkin time?!

#3 I would much rather ruin my Ipod than my coffee. I NEED my coffee every day. My Ipod, not so much.

Feel free to send me your ipod and I will gladly take care of it. -CS

boo…hiss…bad day. warrants going back to bed. don’t you just hate when you get caught coming in late?

Thankfully, no one really cares too much so I won’t get in trouble. I’ll just feel guilty about it. -CS

oh yeah, sucks about the ipod too. did you lose all of your coffee as well?

The only coffee I lost was what ended up inside the ipod. I drank all the rest of it-in homage to my now dead ipod. -CS

I dropped my ipod in a cup of coffee too. Let it dry out for a couple of days. Mine still works fine.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed but it’s not looking too good. It still won’t play. -CS

submerge the ipod in a bowl of rice.
I read it on another blog. . . supposedly it works.

I was just about to ask you if it was in dry or cooked rice. This is intriguing and I’m pretty sure it won’t work as it’s almost been a week and the damned thing is still dead. -CS

I managed to put my phone in the washing machine…sober. Go figure.
Still works though. Yay for the cheapest phones available, cos I left my expensive one in a taxi!

Was it that dirty that you had to subject it to the washing machine? So wrong. -CS
