Really?

7 Dec

Being the dedicated employee that I am, I’ve been playing on facebook for the last several hours.  It’s important to spruce up one’s account by adding all sorts of magical and festive applications.  I found one that has left me perplexed.

Seriously?  Addicted to Boy Meets World?  Is this application even necessary?  It claims that there are over 3000 users, but I think that’s false.  It has to be.  I’m pretty sure that the show didn’t even have 3000 fans when it was on the air.

NO. No. Someone LIKED that show? I only saw it once and I wanted to punch Kevin Arnold’s fugly little seedling brother right in the chops. NO!

Apparently someone liked it enough to creat an application and then lie about how many users it had. Now that’s a fan. -CS

I’ve never even heard of this show.

Here’s what you missed by not watching it: nothing. -CS

I will ashamedly admit that I used to like that show cuz I like Topanga’s hair. But I will also inform all that I was like, 10 when it was on.

You were young and you didn’t know any better. Let’s never talk about this again and just pretend it never happened. -CS

My kid brother was kinda into that show. He’s 23 now. While
Facebook has expanded in recent years, it did start among the college and then high school sets after you, me, and most other denizens of this blogosphere were out of college.

Perhaps more disturbing was when I ran into a high school classmate of mine on the street last year and she was telling me how much she enjoyed the Justin Timberlake concert. Really? People my age like him? Oy vey.

I will admit to owning the CD, but will not be attending any of his concerts. Not unless I’m babysitting and they have no one else to take them and the tickets are free. -CS

I was also young when it was on and didn’t mind it so much. I wouldn’t seek it out, but if was on I enjoyed it. Mostly because Topanga is a fucking hilarious name and because Kitt from Knight Rider lived next door.

It’s crazy to think that there’s someone out there that actually liked the show so much that they named their own kid Topanga. -CS

Maybe it has a cult following in Finland or something and that accounts for the 3000 users. Or maybe there are way more people living in their parents’ basements than most of us realize.

So either the Fins or the losers are lame-o-rama. I could give an 1/8 of damn about both of those demographics. They can suck it…all 3000 of them whoever they are.

I know that you’re downloading the application right now. Don’t even pretend.

BTdubs, guess who is done with training and back at his desk for the rest of the day?? -CS

Omg! I have to agree w/ Talea…I caught the show a couple of times b/c I liked Topanga’s hair too! So funny.

Shhh. You mustn’t admit this! You don’t want people to know! -CS

Oh, god, really? Topanga? Why would you do that to a child? And really, I can’t say I’m ever surprised at some of those Facebook applications anymore. Some of them are so far out there. One of my friends just joined one that’s “I always thought the DC Mormon temple looked like Disney World.” I mean, what the hell?

Oh, they have that as an application?? When I was little, I thought it was Oz. Maybe I should create my one group for that. . . -CS

I think I used to like the show..

It’s okay to admit to liking it-but only if you were under the age of 10 when it was on. -CS

I’ve only been to my account five times since I’ve opened it this summer, between the recent ad fiasco and this app, I might swear Facebook off entirely.

I am addicted to Facebook and spend 1/2 my day on there emailing my secret friend, Facebook! How about that?? See, Facebook (and you know who you are), you are my entertainment during the day. -CS

Ummm…there was a show called “Boy Meets World”?!

Okay, I ‘ll go crawl back into my cave now!

Don’t be ashamed. You missed nothing. Seriously, it wasn’t that great. -CS
