All I Wanna Do

25 Sep

. . .is zooma zoom zoom zoom and a boom boom.

What ever happened to Wreckx-n-Effects?  They were lyrical geniuses.  Take, for example, the following:

I like the way you comb your hair, uh
I like the stylish clothes you wear, uh
It’s just the little things you do, uh
That makes me want to get with you

I’m shocked that they’re not touring the country getting all the young kids to sing Rump Shaker.

Good to know there are other people out there that share the same admiration for true lyrical genius.

Rump Shaker is a classic! It’s right up there with OPP and Rico Suave. Utter geniuses. Seriously. -CS

I just referenced this earlier today! Unfortunately, the room was full of people in their early 20s who had no idea what I was talking about.

Those poor, sad bastards. Their lives are empty without that knowledge. I’m dying to know how this came up in coversation?? -CS

HAHAAHA!!! I love it! I did love that song though I must admit.

It is rather exellent. It very much reminds me of college. Special and magical times. -CS

I don’t like the way they comb their hair.

You don’t? I’ll call them and ask them to change it immediately if not sooner. I don’t want them to make you mad or anything. -CS

If it rhymes it’s good…………no telling what talent counts for today…..

Just because it rhymes doesn’t mean it’s any good. Take for the example, the following:
    That dress so scandalous
And I swear another nigga couldn’t handle it
See ya shakin that thang like who’s da ish
With a look in her eye so devilish

We can “thank” Sisquo for that little ode to the Thong. It’s both tragic and awful. -CS

Ummm…where the hell is the love for “Whoomp There it Is”? Which is a total anthem for any one who was in college in 1995.
I have such fond memories of it playing at Dollar Wing Night when I was out on a date with my totally and morbidly obese college boyfriend. Who would take me to Dollar Wing Night as long as I didn’t think of it as a date and as long as I didn’t even consider eating any of his wings* (*see bit about how college boyfriend was morbidly obese).
Here’s the thing – I drank A LOT in college. If it had been a sport, I would have had a full scholarship. And you know what they say about your judgement being the first thing that is affected by booze? It’s so totally true.

What the hell is wrong with you?? “Whoomp There It Is” is NOT the anthem for that time! I was in college at that time too. I think it would have been closer to “OPP” or “Let’s Talk About Sex”. “Whoomp There It Is” is for suckers.

As for your obese boyfriend in college, I think he works here and I see him every morning. If he’s still single, do you think you could set me up with him? -CS

Bwa…ha..ha.h..ha!!! “Just Shake Your Butt!!!” Oh yeah… I remember listening to them all summer long. They were right next to my “Milli-Vanilli” cassette. hee…hee..hee…. ! 🙂

I blame it on the rain (it was fallin fallin). -CS

It came up in conversation the same way everything does: by me making an unnecessary reference to it. “All I wanna do is zoom a zoom zoom zoom.”

I’m going to have to try to work that into the agenda of my next meeting. I’ll let you know how it goes. -CS

It’s sad to say i used to get up early in high school just so i could hear that song on MTV. They played it at the same time every day. I told myself it was my wake up song 🙂 Ha!!!

It’s a great way to wake up! Much better than something lame like “I Wear My Sunglasses At Night”. -CS

All the cool music is gone. Kids these days just don’t kow what they’re missing.

How can you say that it’s all gone? What about the new classics like Akon’s “Smack That”?? -CS

I once saw Teddy Riley in an Olive Garden in Virginia Beach. I’m pretty sure his brother was in Wreckz-N-Effect, if I see him again I’ll ask him what happened to them.

Please do and report back to us immediately! -CS

Everytime I think about 90’s Hip-Hop fads I wonder, “To who did Mark Wahlberg pray, in order to escape the brand of Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch”?

I’d like to get my hands on his Funky Bunch. -CS

Whoever came up with: Checkity check yourself before you wreck yourself was a freaking genius. I love rad hooks.

That’s some good shit right there! -CS
