The Passage of Time

7 Aug

“Time is a gift, give to you, given to give you the time you need, the time you need to have the time of your life.” Norton Juster

Seriously? It’s only 10:24? I’ve been here for only 3 hours? Ugh, feels like a lot more than that.

Too bad that the company for which I work isn’t aware of this whole “time as a gift” thing. This is certainly not the time of my life.

time passes so quickly when you’re having fun! Obviously, your job isn’t so much fun.

    Is it that obvious?

I love working nights. For one thing, I get to loaf around the house in the morning drinking coffee and blogging, and by the time I get to work all the hall monitors are gone.

Sadly, the time of your life has been outsourced and will now be had by Steve in accounting for half the price. We’re sure you understand.

Your quote sounds like it came from a jobless stoner trying to justify why he was still living in his parent’s basement at 35. You have a house all to yourself, Catherinette, and no curfew.

And I thought my work life was at a snails pace when I said ‘it’s only Tuesday’. You’re counting by the hour so you definitely have me beat.

Bubs: This seems like a clever plan. I’d consider working late here, but I don’t want to give up my evenings.

Pistols at Dawn: Guess I’ll just pack my bags and get going.

Beatrix Kiddo: I like the way you phrased that. I don’t have a curfew (just a thankless job).

Step Right Up: Sometimes, I count the seconds. It’s that awesome of a job.

I hate mornings that go that slow. Or afternoons either.

It’s just too painful for time at work to go by so slowly. It’s not right!
