    • No, My Daddy is NOT a Baker, nor is He a Thief
We have all heard them, those cheesy ass lines that make us want to vomit right on the feet of the person delivering them.  There are some “classic ones” Is your daddy a thief?  Because he stole the sparkle from the stars and put them in your eyes. Or Is your daddy a baker?  Because your buns are [...]
    • Dating a Dud
This afternoon we had 50 new employees start at Investments r Us.  Back in the day, I used to manage the new classes.  Typically it was a good time.  I enjoyed interacting with all the new kids, there was a ton of gossip, AND I also took it as an opportunity to stake my claim [...]
    • Kate Gosselin is The Devil
A few days ago, I wrote a Twitter about Kate Gosselin: Dear Kate Gosselin, your hair is a crime against humanity. Also, your 15 minutes are up. A few minutes later, I received a tweet from one of my fellow Twolia bloggers, Deanna who wanted to defend Kate’s “honor”.  She challenged me to a duel.  How on earth could [...]
    • How Not to Gain 1 Billion Pounds Over the Holiday
It starts with Halloween and ends with New Year’s.  The time of year when we all find any excuse to pack on the pounds and blame it on the holidays.  This year, I’m doing something different: I’m going to join forces with the ladies of Operation Muffin Top(ple) to attempt to keep my weight in [...]
    • Dot Com Dating
When I was 16 years old, I met a cute boy at a college fair. Polo Boy was a Junior at a local high school, he played water polo, he volunteered at his church, he was funny, he was dreamy, and most importantly, he was interested in me. On the day we met, way back [...]

The Lexicon

Ever wonder what some of the fascinating terms in this blog mean?  Now you can find out!  You may not find these in the dictionary, but you will find them described below.

  • Bartles & Jaymes: blow job
  • BT dubs: by the way
  • Boozy Suzy: What you become when getting your drink on-clearly because you’ve been over served.
  • Cheapiris Nice: [cheap ee rees Nice] refers to people that are trashy and think they have great taste.
  • Cocktail Flu: What one wakes up with the morning after getting all boozy suzy.  Keep in mind that it’s not your fault, clearly you were over served by someone the night before.
  • Cookie: the big O.
  • Existential Malaise: What one seems to suffer from when they’re always down in the dumps.
  • FIG JAM: This term is an acronym for Fuck I‘m Great, Just Ask Me.  Used to describe someone that thinks very highly of themselves.
  • Klassy: Think Britney Spears hanging out barefoot in a public bathroom.  Such behavior would be classified as Klassy, with a capital K.
  • Mary: A gay man.  All gay men are Maries, and should be referred to as a she.  This is what I learned from one of my Mary friends.
  • Michael Kors: No, I’m not referring to the designer.  This refers to my gorgeous handbag.
  • Peen: My not so very secret code name for man parts.
  • Pipiris Nice: [pee-PEE-rees Nice]: it’s a fun little term we Mexicans use to describe snobby and uppity folk.
  • Secret Boyfriend: A boyfriend that’s so secret he doesn’t even know about it.  Variations may include “secret lover” and ”secret fiance”.
  • TWSS: Acronym for “that’s what she said.”

  1. I LOVE your lexicon!! If you get a chance, read my blog and let me know if it sucks! OR send some praise my way. Either way, I’d like to feel like someone besides myself actually reads it..hehe.

I will wander over to your blog and peruse. . . -CS

  2. I’ll never eat fig jam again.

One of my favourite acronyms came from House of Sand and Fog (the book). The main character was complaining about an old boyfriend she called Lombard … Lots Of Money, But A Real Dick.

  3. often wanted to speak of the cookie myself, but a little shy in my blog. see? you are bringing out the badness in me girl…I love it!!

Do it! I’m sure your famiy would love to read all about it!

    Or maybe not. -CS

  4. I’m sorry, I just can’t equate my favorite thing in the world with those two old men from the commercial, it just skeeves me out.

  5. However, barring that, this is a great lexicon.

  6. re: bt dubs- that’s it? No explanation of why or where from? You force me to go look it up myself for the history. Because that’s what all super hip people do when they hear new terminology… right?

I don’t know the freaking origins, I didn’t make it up. I read an article in some men’s magazine (Details, GQ or something like that) and there was this super funny article about when older women pretend to act young. It talked about how to spot them, and one way was how they sent text messages. BT dubs was in it and I thought it was funny. It’s my homage to the article. There! Are you happy?? -CS

  7. straight from Urban dictionary:
BT Dubs is an abbreviation of “by the way”. Saying “bee tee double you” just sounds lame. Therefore, this was an absolutely necessary addendum to the dictionary of abbreviations.

    Yes, it’s important and magical.

BT Dubs, thanks for reporting back. -CS

  8. Time to add fetch here!

You, my dear, are so fetch for thinking of this!! -CS

  9. love, love, love it!
